I hope we are not inconveniencing anybody too much but we need a bit of TLC; staff and building, so we are closed to customers on 28th and 29th December and then again after New Year’s Eve until Monday 9th January when we re-open with some fresh paint, a restored bar floor, a repaired roof and a few smiles! We still have tables for dinner on the 30th December (lunch has been privately booked) and a few spaces on New Year’s Eve so call or email now.

I have to confess the tree is up already and our Christmas Menus start on December 1st for those who want to celebrate with a cracker or two and a festive spirit. Saturday December 10th and Friday 23rd- Dinner and Disco Party Night -due to a late cancellation- we still have a few tables for our party night with a glass of sparkling wine, a four course dinner menu plus coffee and chocolates and a disco in the bar till midnight £40pp.[£35 to members]

Monday December 12th Post Cathedral Carol Service Supper. There is nothing better than dinner in the candlelit Old Deanery after this service – the atmosphere lingers on!

Tuesday 20th December is the annual event many of you have asked me about- when a small group from the choir join us for dinner in the restaurant and make the night special for us all. Open first to Old Deanery members.

New Year’s Eve is a Gala Dinner and Disco with wonderful food and a great atmosphere. We are three quarters full so please book as soon as you can at last year’s price of £85pp. Take a look at the menus There are only three standard doubles with shower ensuite left at £125 per room per night inc. breakfast for two and one larger double or twin.

Why don’t you take a room for dinner, bed and breakfast; come along for a drink or two, or book a table for dinner, as Frankly Jazz play it their way at the Old Deanery, on Friday 18th November from 7.30pm. Marcus and Johnny are looking forward to welcoming fans old and new for their first performance since June here at The Old Deanery. If you are thinking about booking music for a private party come along and check them out!! It makes for a great atmosphere on a Friday night with the wood fire burning and candlelight as well.
